2018 Nissan Maxima Sedan

2018 Nissan Maxima Sedan welcome to our site find great offers on Nissan’s full line of reliable sedans, versatile crossovers, capable trucks and SUVs.  The maxima are not like most other saloons you might consider. It is more than the typical family sedan, but is equipped and priced more like a large sedan. It might even be an option for a entry-level luxury car. As such, Maxima is largely a niche offer, but one with an undeniable call.

Nissan has long called the Maxima a “four-door sports car.” Of course the phrase is mainly hype marketing. But the maxima handles pretty well when you ride around the bends and comes standard with a powerful V6 engine. There is even a sporty SR trim with unique suspension setting and performance oriented driver assistants. Given the long list of features of Maxima, high-end interior appointments and skill all around, it could be a solid alternative to luxury saloons such as the Acura TLX or Lincoln MKZ. The cabin is so decadent cut in the levels of SR and platinum, it is off even those cars at that price.

We will notice that the harvest of mid-sized saloons this year is quite attractive. The revamped Honda Accord and the Toyota Camry, in particular, boast more style and a stronger performance than ever before. This could dilute the call of Maxima given the Honda and Toyota are more and cheaper. But if you are looking for a sedan with equal parts sportsmanship and luxury unpretentious, the 2018 Nissan Maxima is certainly worth checking out.

2018 Nissan Maxima Sedan Specifications

The Sedan Nissan Maxima 2018 is presented in five levels of finishing: the S-base, mid-SV, a little more expensive, SL SR sports and the high level of the plate. Like all Maximas, the S is powered by a 3.5-litre V6 engine (300 horsepower, 261 lb-ft. of torque) that drives the front wheels via a continuous-change automatic transmission (CVT). Standard features include 18-inch wheels, LED day working lights, fog, engine remote start, keyless input and ignition, automatic auto-dimming mirror, air conditioning control Double-zone, adjustable driving modes, a steering wheel leather-wrapped, power adjustable front seats (eight-way driver and four-way passenger), a 60/40-Split rear seat, a navigation system, an 8-inch touch screen, two ports USB, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, and an eight-speaker audio system with a CD player and satellite radio. Standard safety systems include a back-up camera and a front collision warning with automatic emergency braking.

The SV Maxima adds front and rear parking sensors, heated mirrors, heated front seats, leather trims and an improved driver seat with stretch thigh support and two-way lumbar adjustment. The SL does not cost much, and its impressive list of additional features includes a two-panel opening roof, active noise reduction, active engine enhancement, adaptive speed controller, a heated steering wheel, Ambient interior lighting, a Bose 12-speaker Premium audio system and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.

The SR adds performance improvements to the SL, with 19-inch wheels, sports suspension, column-mounted pallet selectors, active driving control (uses the brakes to repress body movements on the bumps), active Trace Control (uses the targeted braking to keep the vehicle on its intended trajectory) and the active motor braking which helps to slow the car during the aggressive position in the turns or the approach of a stop. The panoramic sunroof is removed, but the SR does add some luxury features, including LED headlights, ventilated front seats, and enhanced leather trim with quilted suede seat inserts and special interior trim.

A rear spoiler and the Midnight Edition package (black painted wheels and exterior style elements, rear spoiler, automatic dimming driver mirror, driver seat memory settings and a 360 degree parking camera) Are optional for the SR.

The Platinum Top-Trim removes some of the SR add-ons (LED headlights, ventilated front seats) and maintains active driving control, active trace control and active engine braking systems. It then adds automatic windshield wipers, an auto-dimming driver side mirror, a 360-degree parking camera, a power adjustable steering column, the memory settings of the driver’s seat, a seat Six-way electric passenger, improved leather padding and interior trim, rear power sunshade and NissanConnect services (remote start, automatic collision notification, emergency calls and location of Stolen vehicles).

2018 Nissan Maxima Sedan Interior

Nissan hatch full magnitude Chic sees some changes for 2018, but the chief among them is the addition of Android Auto joined Apple CarPlay as standard equipment on the entire range. A pair of rear USB charging ports are now available on the SL, SR and Platinum trims, a refreshed color palette now includes red carnelian, and all maximas see a slight visual refresh with the addition of black accents on the Grid. The front collision warning and automated emergency braking have been added as standard to 2017 models late in the production cycle and are also standard on 2018 Maximas.

Nissan’s electronic interface is a home run. It is both easy to use and looks good-a rare feat. So many luxury car interfaces are too complicated and confusing to use. The loading space and the storage are good for the segment. However, Maxima are less generous with space for people. The info-entertainment system features large icons and smart menus, a redundant button controller and well-placed physical buttons. Overall it is easy to use and a good example of how to do it correctly. You sit down and the roof is low, which could make it come in and out difficult for some. This is especially true with the rear doors and the inclined roof.

The maxima could be priced as a large sedan, but it does not offer the space of one. The Toyota Avalon and Acura TLX are more spacious. The rear seat has a limited reserve margin for those above average height, and the legs depends on the position of the front seat. The side mirrors are wide. The view of the rear quarter is hampered by thick roof pillars. Parking sensors, a surround-view camera and blind-spot surveillance are all standard on the turntable. The Maxima cabin is equipped with a solid construction and a beautiful blend of high-quality interior materials, the exception being the unconvincing and oddly contoured simulated wood trim of the platinum.

Totally redesigned to the interior and to last year, the large saloon full magnitude highlights the style which highlights the new Nissan design language, including the front end of the V-Motion, signature Boomerang lights, kick-up C-pillars and the unique look of a roof. The 300-horsepower 3.5-litre DV series V6 has been redesigned with more than 60 percent of new parts (compared to the previous generation of 3.5 L V6) and is expected to achieve a 15 percent increase in road fuel economy. Completing the V6 is a new, Xtronic-oriented, continuous-variation transmission with a wider range of ratios, which allows for greater acceleration from a permanent start, and a new D-STEP offset logic that provides Rapid shifts at high gas openings. Available in four trim levels — SV, SL, SR and Platinum — the standard features include the heated front seats named leather and the heated steering wheel, the 8.0-inch touch screen navigation system, the remote engine start-up, The back monitor and more.

Maxima are available in S, SV, SL, SR and Platinum Trim levels, an unusually high number of configurations. All share a 300-power, 3.5-litre V-6 paired with a continuous-variation transmission (CVT). It’s not exactly a recipe for thrilling performance, but Maxima accelerates quickly, but with some unnecessary abruptness. The high-effort direction helps the Maxima feel decidedly more athletic than rivals such as the Toyota Avalon, but our staff is mixed up on the lack of direction of road feedback and its occasional spring character.
