Meanwhile, the GT-R is also currently in development, but may not arrive before 2023 at the earliest. This means that the older Godzilla has at least two more years on the market until his successor enters the market.
Looking at the other end of the spectrum, entry-level Versa may not last beyond the current generation, but a refresh is on the horizon in the second half of 2022. One step up is chin, which will remain largely unchanged until 2023 so in the middle, a cycle refresh should be introduced.
In the SUV segment, the Murano needs to be completely redesigned for the 2022 model year, while the Pathfinder is expected to get a new generation a few months earlier. The same is true of the fleet.

2023 Nissan Maxima Platinum
Drivers who like performance are usually willing to sacrifice to get a sporty impression. The Nissan Maxima has long lived up to this set by offering standard V6 power and sharper handling than the average midsize sedan.
With the 2021 Maxima, you get a 300 horsepower V6 plus many standard features. Even the base Maxima trim comes with leather upholstery, for example.
Unfortunately, the Maxima 2021, which is part of the eighth generation car that made its debut in 2015, doesn’t really differentiate itself much. Newer rivals, such as the Honda Accord, Kia K5, and Toyota Camry, offer similar performance potential with fewer compromises.

The Nissan Maxima 2021 is a midsize sedan offered in SV, SR, and Platinum trim. Powering all Maxima models is a 3.5-liter V6 engine (300 horsepower, 261 lb-ft of torque) mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) driving the front wheels. Standard feature highlights include:

2023 Nissan Maxima Redesign
There was a time when the Nissan Maxima was called a “four-door sports car” and that’s a pretty accurate description.
Despite being front-wheel drive, the older generation Maximas offers a much more dynamic driving experience than the current eighth generation, launched in 2015. The current Maxima is not similar to the previous model, much to the displeasure of many.
Also, the only slightly smaller Nissan Altima is not only newer but also makes spending on the Maxima more difficult to justify. And like the Ford Shore, in general, the larger sedan continued to decline in popularity. The writing on the wall.
Car News claims that the flagship car Charming, which received several new updates last year, is expected to be discontinued shortly.
Although this exact date is not known, Nissan intends to launch a brand new electric sedan in style inspired by the concept of the IM Sport sedan in the second half of 2022.
At the time it would not have made sense to introduce the charming ninth generation with propulsion burning. Is it possible that Maxima’s nameplate will be connected to EV? Maybe but not possible.
Automakers tend to introduce new signage when so-called “core elements” of vehicles change, such as the transition from internal combustion to tram.
This is a new start that Nissan will surely want to take advantage of. Currently, Nissan says the main difference between Altima and Maxima, which share platforms, is that the former is designed for efficiency and the latter is performance.
But the Maxima has not been a focused sedan for some time. Put it this way: Real-performance cars do not come with CVT, the only gearbox that Maxima currently offers.
In the meantime, Altima is expected to receive a mid-life renewal in 2022 as well, but it seems that Nissan does not intend to cancel it any time soon.
According to reports, plans are already underway for the next redesign by 2025 and they are expected to offer an electric version, most likely a plug-in hybrid arrangement. Maxima, however, has only one or two model years left.
2023 Nissan Maxima Interior
On the inside, the Maxima offers room for five people in a well-executed cabin filled with soft-touch materials, simple controls, and lots of high-end features. The legroom in the front seats is among the best in its class, while the headroom is average.
Rear seat space is not as extensive as in bigger rivals such as the Chevrolet Impala and Toyota Avalon. Power adjustable front passenger and driver seats, leather-covered steering wheel and shift knob, dual-zone automatic climate control, auto-dimming mirrors, and a start button are standard features across the device.
One of the smallest pieces of baggage in this category means the Maxima starts with a loss in the carriage of cargo;
However, its larger cubes are a convenient place to store everyday items, and the rear seatbacks fold down to accommodate larger items.
The 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system is standard across the Maxima range and we found it easy to use.
The infotainment system can be used as a touchscreen but there are also multiple buttons in the center stack for quick access to common adjustments such as audio volume and climate control.
This system also provides vehicle monitoring, remote access, and emergency services which greatly assist motorists when making adjustments in the car.
The system also helps parents of teen drivers perhaps appreciate the speed, limit, and curfew alerts, and the system automatically calls emergency services when an airbag is installed after an accident. Being able to track Maxima’s location in the event of theft is easy, as is remote start access and door locks.
2023 Nissan Maxima Engine
The engine on offer for the 2023 Maxima is one of the faster full-size sedans, and the V-6 engine sounds great when pushed hard. The 3.5 liters V-6 produces 300 horsepower and drives the Maxima to its intended purpose.
The continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), however, detracts from the Maxima sports sedan’s mission. In our tests, the Maxima Platinum ran from zero to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds, outperforming rivals such as Kia Cadenza and Buick LaCrosse. Maxima takes care of its size well.
The suspension is well damped and sturdy to the point that it may be too stiff for its class. The Maxima exhibits a sleek little body in aggressive cornering maneuvers, and in our tests, the Maxima SR easily outperformed its competitors.
2023 Nissan Maxima MPG
Speaking of the MPG 2023 Nissan Maxima vehicle equipped with several good fuel economy ratings, as well as above average results in our real-world tests, the Maxima powertrain proved itself adept at combining performance and efficiency.
The long mileage also makes it the perfect long-distance companion. During the 200-mile highway fuel-economy test route, from one we exceeded the EPA Maxima rating to an impressive 32 mpg.
2023 Nissan Maxima Release Date
Before the replacement for the Maxima arrives, Nissan will be releasing a successor to the 370Z, dubbed the 400Z. Nissan recently released a teaser for the next-gen Z, which borrows a lot from the past.
Nissan is also working on the next-generation GT-R, which may arrive in 2023. The next-generation Pathfinder is expected to debut in the first half of 2021, followed by the new Murano. Also don’t forget the next Frontier pickup truck, which is slated to arrive in the second half of 2021.
As for Nissan’s other sedan lineup, the Versa may disappear after the current generation, as buyers in the US don’t want a small sedan. Altima is expected to get a facelift in 2022 and Sentra will get an update in 2023.
We think the Platinum trim is perfectly worth the price increase, as it adds a power-adjustable steering column, rain-sensing windshield wipers, power-operated rear blinds, full leather seats with diamond-plated inserts, and wood interior trim.
