2022 Nissan Murano Highlights the Dark Side in the Midnight Edition and the price is also slightly more expensive than last year. There is no denying that the current generation of the Nissan Murano has continued to go hand in hand over the years.
The crossover received a facelift for the 2019 model year, but the frame goes back to 2014. And then, of course, we’ll receive a dark-themed package on the 2022 Nissan Murano. And it’s like a rite of passage when the vehicle’s lifecycle reaches a certain age.
In this case, the “blackout” themed treatment applies to the 2022 Nissan Murano Midnight Edition. As you’d expect, the package explores all kinds of darkness in the flagship crossover, starting with Nissan’s V-Motion grille. The lower fascia also wears more black, along with most of the exterior surfaces that were previously accented with chrome or contrasting color.
The 2022 Nissan Murano Midnight Edition also sports special gloss black 20-inch wheels, and you are not legally entitled to own a special edition model without a special badge.
Nissan offers this Midnight Edition package only at the SV trim level, both front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD).
For 2022, the SV trim also gets heated seats in faux leather as standard.
Then, to take it all home in the Midnight Edition package, you have to pay 37,845 US dollars just for the front-wheel-drive version or 39,545 US dollars for the all-wheel-drive version.
This price does not include an additional 1,175 US dollars for shipping costs.
When it comes to pricing, you’ll be paying a bit more for all of the Nissan Murano trims in 2022.
The base price of the Nissan Murano S FWD now starts at $32,910, just $100 more than last year.
The SV FWD trim is more expensive at $36,450, a difference of $510 from 2021.
Then the 2022 Nissan Murano SL also costs 100 US dollars, which is pegged at 40,410 US dollars, and the Nissan Platinum also gets an increase of 100 US dollars to 44,460 US dollars.
Opting for all-wheel drive will generally add between $1,100 and $1,500 to the sticker price. As before, the price does not include the shipping fee of US$1,175.
All trim levels of the 2022 Nissan Murano, including the new Midnight Edition, are now available to order in the US.
2022 Nissan Murano Review
Nissan offers an impressive lineup of SUVs for the 2022 model year. There is something for everyone, from the compact Rogue to the stylish Murano to the tough Pathfinder.
Each model offers its own attributes, but the large SUV from the automaker really stands out, offering better overall value than the smaller Nissan Rogue.
Looking at the three Nissan 2022 SUVs side by side, we could find no reason beyond price to choose a low-end Rogue. Larger family-friendly models offer better performance, nicer interiors and more space.
Choosing a model that meets all your needs can be overwhelming. Each SUV offers unique performance features and capabilities. But how you ride your vehicle is just as important as the level of comfort you want it to be.
If you’re looking for size, the Pathfinder is Nissan’s largest SUV. This full-size crossover measures 14 inches longer than the compact Rogue. The Pathfinder is also 5.5 inches wider and 3.5 inches taller than its siblings.
The Nissan Rogue is the smallest SUV from the Nissan 2022. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine produces 181 hp and 181 lb-ft of torque.
But the luxurious Murano makes an impressive 260 hp and 240 lb-ft of torque with its powerful V6 engine.
The Nissan Murano 2022 mid-range crossover is the most stylish of the three SUVs, offering mid-range capability and performance.
The two-line SUV only has a towing capacity of 1,500 pounds, limiting its ability to tow trailers or boats. In comparison, the Pathfinder 2022 is the only model in the lineup capable of pulling up to 6,000 pounds.
The Nissan Pathfinder 2022 has a more edgy exterior design. It also offers strong performance with a 3.5 liter V6 engine paired with a new nine-speed automatic transmission.
The only three-row Nissan SUV, the Pathfinder provides plenty of room for passengers and cargo. In addition, the improved all-wheel drive system makes navigation in bad weather easier. And the off-road drive mode lures you off the beaten track.
The bigger Nissan SUV offers more space, better performance and nicer interior features. In fact, the Rogue couldn’t compete on crane capacity, technology options and seating space.
MotorTrend recommends the Nissan Murano 2022 over the Rogue, saying it is “positioned as a quasi-lifestyle crossover with a focus on style rather than maximized utility.”
MT reviewers also prefer the larger Nissan Pathfinder 2022 for its “moderate traction, people and off-road capability”.
Ultimately, if you are eager to choose a new Nissan SUV, Murano or Pathfinder are better choices.
As of this writing, the automaker has yet to announce a release date for its 2022 SUV lineup, but it is expected to debut this summer or early fall.
Watch the following video to get an overview of the changes in 2020 which we really hope so that the improvement in 2022 is even better and better.
Please note Nissan Murano is a mid-sized SUV with seats for five passengers. This is commendable for its good quality interior materials, spacious rear seats, and comfortable Zero Gravity front seats inspired by NASA.
In the deprived department, you will find small cargo space, weak towing capability, and obstructed out-of-sight visibility. All models benefit from a powerful 260 horsepower V6 engine and all available wheel drive.
The latter was completely redesigned in 2015, and 2022 Murano was refreshed in 2019 with a new look and more safety features. In the ranking, Murano is in a rather disappointing seventh place, far behind the Honda Passport, Hyundai Santa Fe, and Ford Edge.
We have 2022 Murano in the long-term test fleet and you can read all about our real-world experience here. With a relatively new refresher, we do not expect significant changes to 2021.
We will have more certain information in the summer, so keep checking this space for the latest news.
- HIGHEST
- Bold style, well-appointed interior, lots of standard driver-assist technologies.
- LOWEST
- Blasé driving dynamics, unrefined CVT, low crane capacity.
- DECISION
- Murano’s talent lies in its stylish looks and its quiet and comfortable cabin but its competitors are more practical.
2022 Nissan Murano
Nissan Murano 2022, The Nissan Murano will continue for 2022 with no significant changes. The current Murano design has been around since 2015, but it’s still an expressive mid-sized crossover with a premium feel to it.
The 2019 refresh brings LED exterior lighting, new wheels, and available leather seats. The Nissan Safety Shield 360 driver assistance system came standard on most of last year’s models.
Even though his muscular style is not as bold as it used to be, Murano is still unconventionally attractive.
Murano has five seats in a pleasant environment and offers cargo space of up to 67 cubic feet. The sporty roofline limits overall utility. Boxier competitors can carry more, and some offer third rows.
Every 2022 Murano will come with an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, four USB ports, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The top two trims, SL and Platinum, also carry the Bose 11-speaker navigation and sound system.
Platinum offers a high level of luxury for this class with standard features such as semi-aniline diamond-plated leather seats, ventilated front seats, and a panoramic sunroof.
Nissan’s familiar 3.5-liter V6 will stay under the hood of every Murano. The engine produces 260 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque.
A continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) sends power to the front wheels. All-wheel drive is available on all Murano trims.
CVT helps Murano achieve impressive efficiency for a six-cylinder crossover. All versions are EPA rated at 20 miles per gallon city, 28 mpg highway, and 23 combined.
The capacity of the Murano crane is stuck at 1,500 pounds, significantly lower than other vehicles of this type.
As with previous years, most trims will be equipped with active safety technology, including adaptive cruise control, lane maintenance assistance, automatic high beam, and front and rear automatic emergency braking.
These features are still optional on the base S model. A surround-view camera system is provided for SL and Platinum. Murano currently receives a five-star overall safety rating from the NHTSA.
The Nissan Murano is a midsize SUV with seating for five passengers. It was last redesigned in 2015 so it looks like we’ll see an all-new Murano for the 2022 model year.
With the redesign, we hope to adopt the sleek new Nissan style featured on the upcoming all-electric Ariya. It’s a fair bet that we will see a more economical engine choice and a thorough update of all safety features and technology.
As of now, the Murano uses a 260 horsepower V6 engine and continuously variable automatic transmission, and following our better-rated options include the Honda Passport, Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport, and the upscale Toyota Venza.
Is Nissan Discontinuing The Murano
As far as we are concerned some of the nissanmurano.org forum members have announced: Yes, in the US it is Rogue Sport, and in Canada it is QASHQAI.
And I don’t think Murano will go either. But as you can observe, in their communication I rarely see Murano. Then again, same for Maxima.
Obviously, this is a marketing thing, they want to drive the best sales that are more fuel-efficient. I feel the Maxima / Murano is more of a big machine, the “sportier” side of the best seller. by: muReno911.

2022 Nissan Murano Redesign
Nissan Murano 2022 will be the best model for the coming year. The Murano hasn’t been redesigned since its 2015 model year and is one of the automaker’s oldest vehicles.
In the red hot midsize SUV segment, keeping the Murano design and feature list stagnant for six years does not bode well for its competitiveness.
likely this will be the best-generation Murano currently to arrive on the scene in 2015 wearing a massive redesign of its predecessor.
Compared to the 2014 Murano, the 2015 model year features a Nissan V-Motion grille, sharper headlamps with LED daytime running lights, radically designed taillights, a new liftgate, and a floating roof design.
Overall, Nissan went from a safe design to adapting the Murano with muscular, flowing lines for a bold look.
When will the Nissan Murano be redesigned?
Nissan Murano Redesign 2022, At this time the redesign of Nissan Murano in the new design gives a first glance at Nissan preparing a refresher for Murano.
These changes appear to give a handsome crossover that looks even sharper. Reportedly, Murano will come out in 2021 for the 2022 model year.
This photo reveals that the Murano feature is equipped with headlights with a pair of LED running lights that make the arrow point to the middle of the grid.
Looks attractive even on this camouflage model and should be more conspicuous on finished vehicles. There is also a new low trapezoid fascia. Concealment in this test mule appears to include a niche for fog lamps.
The only other change is at the rear of the vehicle where Nissan Murano redesign 2022 is hiding the rear lights, which is a good indication in the new unit to refresh.
Big changes seem to be redder in them, rather than the same rough mixture of reds and clear parts in the current section.
Murano is currently arriving for the 2015 model year and is displaying major design changes. The design of the roof is floating and deep, the V-shaped grille continues to look striking the year after arriving on the road.
Nissan is introducing new technologies for the 2018 vintage model (gallery below), including automatic emergency braking and intelligent sophisticated collision warning as a standard feature on all models.
SV Trim and above also get a blind-spot warning and cross marking.
Adaptive Cruise Control is now part of the SL Grade and SV Premium Package. At the same time, the company is updating the center console for easier accessibility.
2022 Nissan Murano Concept
Since its debut as the 2003 model year, the Nissan Murano offers bold styling and five-seater in a mid-size SUV package.
Now in its third generation, the curvy Nissan commercial vehicle offers many standard and interior features that you can enrich with extras such as heated and ventilated front seats and upholstered leather seats.
For 2022, the Nissan Safety Shield 360 driver assistance feature package is now standard on all Muranos. Check out Murano, which was redesigned to arrive in the next few years.
If it’s the comfort you’re looking for, the Nissan Murano can do the trick. Comfortable seats and quiet cabins create a relaxing driving experience ideal for long journeys, especially if you are considering a flexible journey.
The stack in the middle shows Murano’s age. The dated infotainment graphics, especially the robust 360-degree parking camera system, are not helping a stylish cabin.
While the Murano V-6 isn’t the fastest option in its class, it’s more than adequate for the average consumer. Don’t corner the Murano too fast, because the SUV has an extreme body turn.
Also, steering very heavily at low speeds makes maneuvering in tight spaces a daunting task.
There are better options in the mid-size SUV segment, with lower rearview and heavy steering. Still, consumers looking for an affordable option with bold style and a comfortable ride can find what they’re looking for in Murano.
The 2022 Murano automatic CVT is associated with a 3.5-liter V-6 rated at 260 hp and 240 lb-ft of torque.
There is no fuel economy penalty for choosing AWD; The EPA’s fuel economy rating is 20/28 mpg city/highway in FWD or AWD.
The Murano has an older version of Nissan’s infotainment system with an 8.0-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto compatibility, a six-speaker sound system, and a 7.0-inch cluster display.
Built-in navigation is only available on SL and Platinum equipment, both of which have a Bose 11 speaker sound system.
2022 Nissan Murano Engine
2022 Murano currently comes exclusively with a 3.5-liter V6 with 260 horsepower (193 kilowatts) and 240 pound-foot (325 Newton-meter) torque, and customers can choose between front and all-wheel drive.
The current trend towards machine alignment can produce a more efficient four-cylinder with forced induction for new models.
The debut date for refreshing Nissan Murano 2022 is unclear. However, it can be sold before the end of the year.
Nissan Motor will launch 12 electric or electric vehicles in 2022.
It could also have the first EV platform ordered or an electric variant of a new or redesigned internal combustion platform, the executive said.
“We will develop a broader portfolio,” said Gareth Dunsmore, director of electric vehicles for Nissan Europe.
“We will democratize electrification in internal combustion vehicles. “
Although some vehicles will come purely EV, Nissan intends to use “e-Power” Technology as a way to give people the feeling of EV but without the anxiety span.
The e-Power system uses a small, fuel-efficient internal combustion engine to provide charging into the battery pack. But only electric motor vehicles.
Dunsmore said that the E-Power subcompact note had had “phenomenal success” in Japan, calling it a “diesel killer.”
2022 Nissan Murano Hybrid EV
In addition to electric vehicles, Nissan is charging power to pure electric vehicles. At the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show, Nissan launched the IMx crossover concept (pictured above) for sale in 2020.
Nissan will develop a modified internal combustion engine platform EV and the first EV reservation platform in parallel, Dunsmore said.
Among the early arrivals in overseas markets was the small Van-NV200 shipment. Dunsmore noted that the E-NV200 with a 40-kilowatt-hour battery is perfect for the “Amazon generation” as “the last delivery vehicle.”
“In taking the leaf of a battery pack and placing it in the NV200 chassis, Dunsmore noticed” a big change in growth. “
So far, the Nissan US website is considering the E-NV200 concept for the US market, and Dunsmore said there are no plans to sell it here.
But that could change if the shipping company places a larger order, Dunsmore said.
Already, Amazon uses e-NV200 in Madrid, Spain, a shipping center. Maybe that relationship can be widespread.
Roel de Vries, Nissan Motor’s global marketing head, added that the NV platform is currently late in its life cycle.
Hinting that the next generation might not only be electricity but also carry autonomous capabilities on certain routes, which is Well-said, as an airport or city shuttle such as London with congestion costs in the city center.
2022 Nissan Murano Platinum
Our speculations that the Nissan Murano 2022 will come in four different trims, namely S, SV, SL, and Platinum. All trim is also available in FWD and AWD layouts.
The base trim S, which comes with an MSRP of $ 31,530, comes with features like twilight-sensing LED headlights, a 6-speaker audio system, a tilt and telescopic steering wheel, a pre-collision safety system, and several other features. it’s a decent base trim.
However, pay a little more money and you’ll get the SV trim for $ 35,640.
The SV trim gets more safety and cabin features such as leather seats, rear parking sensors, an adaptive cruise control system, and an electrically adjustable front seat.
Both the SL trim and the Platinum trim come with almost every feature you could think of for the mid-size SUV segment.
The 2022 Murano Platinum, with an estimated price of $ 44,060, offers cooled front seats and a dual panoramic sunroof as standard.
The SL trim that sells for $ 40,010 gets the excellent Bose 11-speaker audio system, heated steering wheel, front and rear parking sensors, heated seats, and a few other conveniences.
The top of the Platinum trim gets more features such as premium leather seats, cooled front seats, a panoramic dual-panel sunroof, and steering wheel position memory presets.
The Nissan Murano 2022 will likely launch at a base price of $ 32,510 for the lowest S trim and hit $ 45,610 for the top of the Platinum trim.
2022 Nissan Murano Spy Shots
The Nissan Murano will continue for 2022 with no significant changes.
Speaking of the spy shot, we can’t say for sure as this is preliminary information. Since its debut as a 2003 model year, the Nissan Murano has offered bold styling and ample seating for five in a midsize SUV package.
Now in its third generation, the curvaceous Nissan utility vehicle offers many standard and interior features that you can enhance with extras such as heated and ventilated front seats and upholstered leather upholstery.
Pro
- Comfortable ride
- Quiet cabin
- Many of the standard driver assistance features
Counter
- Graph of the date infotainment system
- Lots of body rolls
- Heavy steering
By 2022, the Nissan Safety Shield 360 driver assistance feature suite is now standard across all Muranos. Look out for the Murano which is redesigned to arrive in the next few years.
What We Think
If comfort is what you’re looking for, the Nissan Murano might do the trick. Comfortable seats and quiet cabins create a relaxing driving experience, ideal for long journeys especially if you are considering a flexible journey.
The middle pile, however, shows Murano’s age. The dated infotainment graphics, especially the rugged 360-degree parking camera system, don’t help any stylish cabin.
While the V-6 Murano isn’t the fastest choice in its class, there is more than enough for the average consumer.
Just don’t corner Murano too quickly because the SUV has an excessive body roll. Also, steering that is too heavy at low speeds makes maneuvering tight spaces a daunting task.
With subpar rear visibility and heavy steering, there are better options in the midsize SUV segment.
Even so, consumers looking for an affordable option with a bold style and a comfortable ride may find what they are looking for in Murano.
Performance and Fuel Savings
The 2022 Murano automatic CVT associates with the 3.5-liter V-6 rated at 260 hp and 240 lb-ft of torque.
There is no fuel economy penalty for choosing AWD; The EPA’s fuel economy rating is 20/28 mpg city/highway on FWD or AWD.
Technology
Murano features an older version of Nissan’s infotainment system featuring an 8.0-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto compatibility, a six-speaker audio system, and a 7.0-inch cluster display.
Internal navigation is only available on the SL and Platinum trim, both of which also get an 11-speaker Bose audio system.

2022 Murano Redesign, The Nissan Murano 2022 will be the remaining model for the upcoming model year.
The Murano hasn’t been redesigned since the 2015 model year and is one of the automaker’s oldest vehicles.
In the red hot midsize SUV segment, keeping the Murano design and feature list stagnant for six years is not a good sign for its competitiveness.
The current third-generation Murano took to the stage in 2015 with a major redesign of its predecessor.
Compared to the 2014 Murano, the 2015 model year Nissan V-Motion grille featured, sharp headlights with LED daytime headlights, radically designed rear headlights, a new liftgate, and a floating roof design.
Overall, Nissan went for a safe design that adapted Murano with muscle for a thick look, flowing lines.
On the inside, the 2015 Murano also received a major update. The center stack was redesigned to accommodate a larger touch screen and buttons for the HVAC system were placed in a more accessible area.
The instrument cluster was redesigned to accommodate the 7-inch screen, while Nissan’s comfortable Zero Gravity seats featured.
The higher trim comes with leather seats, an 11-speaker Bose audio system, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and 20-inch wheels.
In 2018, Nissan supported the list of standard Murano technology features. Front collision warning and automatic emergency braking are standard across the range.
The SV trim receives rear traffic alerts and blind-spot monitoring. Up to the SL, the class brings adaptive cruise control as a standard feature. We hope that all of these safety features are available for the Murano 2021.
While other midsize SUVs have switched to turbocharged four-cylinder engines, Murano currently continues to use the 3.5-liter V6 engine. Power is rated for 260 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque.
The continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) is standard for Murano, as is a front-wheel drive, while all-wheel drive is available.
The crane capacity for Murano is rated at 1,500 pounds, well behind competitors. We expect Murano’s engine to remain the same for the Murano 2022 model year.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety is not a test in the 2020 Murano crash. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s test, SUV five-star overall safety rating.
Standard safety features on the Murano include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, rear seat reminder, and driver sleep monitoring.
Available features include blind-spot monitoring, lane guard assistance, rear traffic alerts, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, and an all-around view camera.
