In terms of performance, the Nissan Murano will do 0-60 in 7.3 seconds and the quarter-mile in 15.6 seconds, which is similar to the 2021 model, as there are no changes to the mechanical parts.

The Nissan Murano has a top speed of 130 MPH. The Murano’s comfortably tuned suspension makes traveling on the road a breeze, cushioning even the worst potholes for a smooth ride. The Murano is also equipped with a towing capacity of 1,500 lbs.

Rear seat passengers are treated to a comfortable bench seat that can be reclined with plenty of cushioning. As Murano’s cargo hold is below average for this class, it’s no surprise that behind its backseat we can only fit our nine carry-on luggage while its competitors hold more.

However, with the rear seats stowed away, the Murano outperformed the Jeep Grand Cherokee, and we loaded 26 boxes in the cabin. Most of the interior storage compartments are reasonably sized except for the Murano glovebox, which is very large.

All Murano models feature an 8.0-inch color touchscreen running Nissan’s NissanConnect infotainment system; navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and SiriusXM with Travel Link weather and traffic updates are also now standard across the range. The Murano has both USB-A and USB-C ports, including a pair on the back of the center console so those in the back seat can use their smartphones.

With the expected redesign, the interior will get an upgrade with more features. Despite its age, the interior of today’s Murano still looks and feels upscale mainly due to the excellent zero-gravity front seats from Nissan’s best-in-class.

Higher trim levels get soft leather finishes everywhere, from the seats to the door panels to the armrests. The dashboard still looks modern with a swooping and curved design and wood trim lines. Move to the back seat and there’s plenty of room with a loveseat seat.

The Murano gets a zero-gravity front seat that is soft and very comfortable even for long trips. The middle passenger gets a headrest and a three-point seat belt. The back seat can also be reclined for more comfort. Semi-aniline leather seats with diamond-lined inserts are only available for the upper trim. Seating capacity is common across all Murano rivals. The legroom space is comfortable for the front row but the back row lacks legroom space compared to other competitors.

The current model lacks cargo capacity compared to more accomplished competitors such as the Honda Passport and Hyundai Santa Fe SE. The newer designs can get a more boxy look which can translate to increased cargo capacity. Only the Toyota Venza has less cargo capacity than the Nissan Murano.

All Murano models get an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with NISsanConnect software and plenty of functionality including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, voice recognition, and Bluetooth.
