2022 Nissan Rogue: The Next-Gen Rogue Redesign Spied, Price and Release Date

2020 Nissan Rogue Redesign recently we have a very interesting thing. The 2022 Nissan Rogue Sport is expected to see the first sometimes full redesign in 2021. Unfortunately, no official details have been released as of this writing.

This model was introduced in 2017 and continues to act as a bridge between Nissan Kicks and Rogue in terms of size and price.

The strength of Rogue Sport is currently centered on technology. For example, advanced features such as automatic emergency braking are standard across all lines, while support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto helps make it easier to stay connected.

Nissan is suffering from an aging product lineup and as a result is spending a fortune. Fortunately, the Japanese auto giant is working on a fleet of new or refurbished models to help change its fortunes, one of which is just now becoming apparent.

One of these is the redesigned Rogue Sport compact crossover SUV that we will likely see reaching dealers in 2021 as the 2022 model. In other markets, the vehicle will be given the Qashqai badge.

The Rogue baby is not an American product, as it started in 2006 when single-handedly discovered the compact family crossover segment in Europe.

Although quite ugly, the first generation Qashqai (the so called in Europe) recorded sales growth year after year.

The new Qashqai arrived in 2013 for the European market and has much improved styling, extra safety features and a fuel-efficient engine.

In 2017, Nissan USA announced a new Rogue Sport, which is placed between the discontinued Juke and the normal Rogue. It’s meant to be affordable, but as we know, America just can’t get enough of the crosses.

This is what we believe the Rogue Sport / Qashqai 2022 will look like. You don’t see the original car, which will only be shown next year, but a render from the Russian website Kolesa.

We’ve seen renderings of the new crossover before and they all look like this except for one element: the headlights. Some think the bar isn’t connected to the grille because of how Rogue 2021 came out. To be honest, it would look sharp.

The proportions look similar to the current model, although the more modern styling looks inspired by Nissan’s latest crossover concepts such as the Xmotion and IMQ.

The redesigned Nissan Rogue 2021 is a preview of what’s to come. Inside should be a much improved infotainment system, as well as the latest electronic driver assistance features.

The platform of the new Rogue Sport is most likely an updated version of the current model’s CMF modular design. This denotes vehicles coming with front-wheel drive (with all-wheel drive available) and, unfortunately, continuously variable transmission.

One of the vehicles that engineers use as a benchmark is the Lynk & Co. 01 which is currently sold exclusively in China.

2022 Nissan Rogue Interior and Exterior

Much of the interior is still obscured even in these photos, but we can see enough to say that Nissan has taken the baby crossover redesign seriously.

We can see a large infotainment screen and an interface similar to that in newer Nissan passenger cars, along with a fully digital meter cluster.

This particular model even has a wheel-mounted paddle changer, which suggests that we’re likely to see fairly complete examples; the quality of the interior materials that look supports it.

As an added bonus, the prototype exterior photos are a bit nicer than anything we’ve seen before.

From this, we can see the similarities in the family that keep the moniker “Rogue Sport” in the United States. The prototype groin resembles a scaled back variant of that found on its larger sibling.

2022 Nissan Rogue Engine

At this point in engine issues it remains unclear what powertrains will be offered, although the current 2.0 liter inline-4 model which is good for 141 horsepower will likely carry over, perhaps this time paired with a mild hybrid setup.

Do not seek battery-electric power; Nissan will launch the Ariya electric crossover in late 2021 instead.

As noted above, Nissan is working on a fleet of new or updated models. In addition to the redesigned Rogue Sport and Rogue, and the new Ariya, we’ll also see an updated Fleet and redesigned versions of the Pathfinder, Frontier, and even the Z sports car.

This new model is supposed to be based on a new version of the CMF platform and we suspect all engines will be aimed at fuel economy. It is possible that the Rogue Sport and Qashqai will rely on the new 1.3-liter turbo.

It sounds a little small, but we’re seeing powertrains like that more and more in America (think Buick Encore GX and Chevy Trailblazer).

In Europe, Nissan may still offer diesel engines for a while. The 1.5 liter DCi will now be equipped with exhaust gas after-treatment (AdBlue). For more power, they can also “borrow” 1.8 liters from Renault.

Having said all that, our latest review of Rogue Sport highlights the disappointing performance of the model. The only engine option is a 2-liter engine with a value of 141 hp.

Meanwhile, competitors such as the Mazda CX-30 offer up to 186 hp, plus a more premium overall look at more or less the same price. Will the next Rogue Sports aim at raising standards in terms of performance? That remains to be seen.

Nissan is suffering from an aging product lineup and as a result, is a lot of money. Fortunately, the Japanese auto giant is working on a fleet of new or updated models to help reverse its fate, one of which has just been seen.

Engineers have been seen testing a redesigned Rogue Sport compact crossover SUV that we will likely see reaching dealerships in 2021 as a 2022 model. In other markets, vehicles will be labeled Qashqai.

The proportions look similar to the current model, although the more modern style seems to have been inspired by the latest Nissan crossover concepts such as Xmotion and IMQ. In it, there must be the next generation Nissan infotainment system which will be powered by the Google Android operating system.

The new Rogue Sports platform is likely to be the latest version of the current modular CMF design model. This refers to vehicles that come with front-wheel drive (with all-wheel drive available) and, unfortunately, continuous transmission varies.

One of the vehicles used by engineers as a benchmark is Lynk & Co. 01 which is currently sold exclusively in China.

It is not clear what powertrain will be offered, although a good 2.0 liter inline-4 model for 141 horsepower is likely to carry over, maybe this time it is paired with a mild hybrid arrangement. Don’t look for battery-electric power; Nissan is working on a dedicated EV based on the Ariya compact crossover concept from 2019.

Before the arrival of the new Rogue Sport, Nissan will introduce a larger, redesigned version of the Rogue crossover.

It’s scheduled for later this year as a 2021 model. Other new models in the pipeline include a redesigned version of the Frontier mid-size pickup truck and Z sports car. J11 is the second generation code name, launched in 2013 and updated in 2017. If you count, that means 2021 is when the third generation will be launched.

And here it is, ladies and gentlemen, who were covered in camouflage while testing “in the path of a secret test.” Our Carparazzi has been spying on not just one, not two, but three production-ready prototypes that feature lower and leaner front fascia than the models that come out.

It’s no secret Qashqai will borrow some styling cues from the new Juke, along with some concept influences.

Reviewed two weeks ago by 2022 Nissan Rogue in the video at the end of this article, the Qashqai-slash-Rogue-Sport compact crossover was reviewed earlier by the IMQ Concept. However, don’t expect an asymmetrical 33-inch screen and a suspended center console.

What you can look forward to is some hybrid powertrain. Renault has taken this route with the ranks of E-Tech for the Clio, Megane, and Captur crossovers. The pure-electric version is out of the question because Ariya will come next year.

Expected to discard the diesel option altogether, J12 Qashqai must display at least one hybrid powertrain and possibly a plug-in hybrid.

The first must be based on the power system found in JDM Records while the PHEV maybe a Mitsubishi system.

Mitsubishi’s alliance partner is an unnecessary leader in this segment with Outlander PHEV, which produces less than 50 grams of CO2 per kilometer in the WLTP testing regime. That figure is very important for Nissan and Qashqai given the average emissions target of 2021 fleets of 95 grams per kilometer in the European Union.

On the final note, the way the prototype is seen under camouflage leads us to believe that disclosure must be made before the end of 2020. As such, the J12 will be sold as a 2021 model. European models will be produced at the Sunderland factory in England.

The car is currently powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 141 horsepower via a CVT. Nissan also offers all wheel drive as an option. There will probably be a minor power spike coming in, and we can look forward to a rumored power supply for Europe, but it’s unclear what Nissan has at the moment. However, the Rogue Sport will likely retain its place in the Nissan lineup as a mature and quiet little crossover, without any true sporting pretensions.

The US market Rogue Sport is slightly updated for 2020, so we hope it will be a model in a year or two before we see a replacement. The Rogue Sport only went on sale in the US as a 2017 model, but the Qashqai ROW market has been in production for several years.

Per Automotive News Europe, production of next-generation cars has been postponed until at least the second quarter of 2021 due to the coronavirus-related setback. Although it is still too early for the official release date, our records show that Rogue Sports usually arrives at the end of autumn. If that continues, we think it makes sense to expect a release in the fall of 2021.

There is no accurate information about the price of the Rogue Crossover 2022 but we speculate that it will come in three major modifications, the starting price should remain in the $ 28,000 range, depending on technical and electronic equipment configurations. Availability of all-wheel drive Nissan Rogue Platinum presented in the future will add another cost, possibly closer to $ 42,000.
