Under its swoopy styling, the Maxima shares a large part of its architecture with nissons smaller Altima mid-class sedan. The sound from the bottom hood is relatively muted, but the noises entering the cabin are not from a car that can aufklesten for up from $40,000.

On the other hand, the special tuning for the CVT is that the maxima between the stops feels tangy than the lighter Altima that shares this motor. A sports mode for the gearbox keeps the revolutions even higher and the institutes programmed ‘ gear ‘ steps that provide a smooth, smooth response. This is all well, but it is far from what we associate with sportiness.

The Maxima does more to redeem itself on a curvy road. The flat steering wheel with its thick rim is a pleasure to hold and Nissan has chosen in unusual amount of booklet for a large four-door. On its standard 18-inch alloy wheels, the maxima ride is smooth and almost luxurious. Opt for the 19-inchers paired with stiffer shocks and thick swivel rods exclusively for Maxima SRS and things are just the right side of the company. Also the brakes of the Maxima SR are more responsive.
