With enough comfort to please a luxury buyer, enough athletics to keep an enthusiastic driver engaged, and ample gadgets to please the Tech connoisseurs, the Nissan Maxima is a full-size sedan rounded. His sports and aggressive lines add a visual punch and invite attention. Maxima make a value game, too, as many of its virtues are standard across the range, including touch-screen entertainment, dashboard navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and automatic emergency braking. A powerful and fuel efficient V-6 is under the hood, and a sport suspension makes the increase of the heat in the corners without punish by the occupants of the driving on roads difficult. Compared to other well-equipped saloons, the Maxima offers the most balanced blend of style, luxury and sport.
Nissan hatch full magnitude Chic sees some changes for 2018, but the chief among them is the addition of Android Auto joined Apple CarPlay as standard equipment on the entire range. A pair of rear USB charging ports are now available on the SL, SR and Platinum trims, a refreshed color palette now includes red carnelian, and all maximas see a slight visual refresh with the addition of black accents on the Grid. The front collision warning and automated emergency braking have been added as standard to 2017 models late in the production cycle and are also standard on 2018 Maximas.
2018 Nissan Maxima Specifications
Specifically, Apple CarPlay has become standard on all levels of Trim, allowing IPhone users to connect and control their devices from the 8.0 inch touch screen maxima. (Auto Android, however, was not included in this update.) Also new were the medallion and the packages of dynamic accessories. The two 18-inch wheels included, illuminated door, and a rear wing. The Medallion package added the interior and exterior accent lighting, while the dynamic package included the unique lower threshold moldings.
Totally redesigned to the interior and to last year, the large saloon full magnitude highlights the style which highlights the new Nissan design language, including the front end of the V-Motion, Boomerang signature lights, Kick-up C-pillars and the unique look of floating roof. The 300-horsepower 3.5-litre DV series V6 has been redesigned with more than 60 percent of new parts (compared to the previous generation of 3.5 L V6) and is expected to achieve a 15 percent increase in road fuel economy. Completing the V6 is a new, Xtronic-oriented, continuous-variation transmission with a wider range of ratios, which allows for greater acceleration from a permanent start, and a new D-STEP offset logic that provides Rapid shifts at high gas openings. Available in four trim levels — SV, SL, SR and Platinum — the standard features include the heated front seats named leather and the heated steering wheel, the 8.0-inch touch screen navigation system, the remote engine start-up, The back monitor and more.
2018 Nissan Maxima Engine
Maxima are available in S, SV, SL, SR and Platinum Trim levels, an unusually high number of configurations. All share a 300-power, 3.5-litre V-6 paired with a continuous-variation transmission (CVT). It’s not exactly a recipe for thrilling performance, but Maxima accelerates quickly, but with some unnecessary abruptness. The high-effort direction helps the Maxima feel decidedly more athletic than rivals such as the Toyota Avalon, but our staff is mixed up on the lack of direction of road feedback and its occasional spring character.
Under its slender style, the Maxima shares a large part of its architecture with the small mid-size Altima sedan of Nissan. One would think that would result in a more cabin, but the maxima priorities of depth, thick padded bucket-style seats for outboard passengers and the low roof makes the back feel even tighter. A driver-oriented dashboard provides a sporting sensation and the interior materials range from the average above to downright decadent in the range-Topping maxima Platinum.
The entry-level Maxima S do not quite deliver on the luxury mission with its fabric padding, but it comes standard with the navigation and remote start of the engine. The maxima are leather and a multiple-adjustment driver seat with thigh support that makes them feel a little more special for not too much money. If you are sold on the Nissan “four-door sports car” marketing line, the firmer suspension of Maxima SR, the retuned brakes and the available summer tires turn it into a convincing corner sculptor.

2018 Nissan Maxima Price
Pick from last year-the sporty SR Trim-sees a slight price increase from $510 to $39 165 for 2018, but it’s still our favorite. His performance-oriented curve fascinates him for enthusiastic pilots like us and includes the equipment we find exciting:
- A sport-tuned suspension
- 19-inch wheels
- Leather seats with faux-suede inserts
- Sport Mode for the heftier direction and a clearer response of the gases
These options get the maxima as close as possible to the ethics of the sport for which he has already known, and they provide a dashboard of the athletics welcome without compromising the quality of the whole suspension or luxury.
