2019 Nissan Maxima SR Specs
2019 Nissan Maxima SR Specs After introducing a new Altima family sedan for 2019, Nissan announced that it would show its other great sedan, the Maxima, a little love, too. Maxima updates are less substantial, adding up to a mid-cycle update. And while Nissan still had to confirm the details for the full range of the model for 2019 at the time we wrote this Buyer’s guide, the company had to provide notable news details for its most centric sedan.
At the front, there is a new version of the V-Motion grille to go with standard LED headlamps and daytime running lights, while the rear side has quadruple exhaust tips and a new spoiler for the SR. Sporty trim.
All Maxima settings get new wheels and Nissan says there are improved interior finishes across the line, although these vary depending on the clipping you choose. We know that Nissan will be transporting the Maxima SV, SL, SR and platinum of last year, and has added a Platinum Reserve variant with 19-inch silver alloy rims, satin-finished bronze interior finishes, diamond-padded leather seats and Rear seats heated.
Nissan has also carried out the maximum 3.5 L V6 engine, whose 300 HP and 261 lb-ft of torque pass through a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) to the front wheels. Also new in Maxima is the Security Shield 360 Suite of advanced security features. While this is more of a branding exercise than anything else, it announces the introduction of post-maxima emergency braking along with a driver alert system.

The full 360 security protection suite is available in top-level Maxima grades and includes front collision warning with pedestrian detection and automatic braking, high beam assist, traffic alert blind spot monitoring Rear cross, rail-out warning and rear automatic braking.
Maxima plays in a field that gets much less play these days, now that SUVs and crosses dominate the sales of new vehicles in the medium-sized class. Competitors include the Toyota Avalon and the high-end versions of the Camry, Honda Accord and Chevrolet Malibu. Three of the other Maxima competitors-the Ford Taurus, Buick LaCrosse and Chevrolet Impala-will soon be the story.
As we said before, Nissan had not published all the details of what each cut of Maxima would include for 2019, but we hope that the standard features are similar to those of 2018. That would see that the base model comes with 18-inch wheels, navigation, front and rear parking sensors, dual zone automatic climate control, automatic dimming rearview mirror, keyless entry, front seats Heated, heated steering wheel, leather seats and an eight-speaker stereo.
Items such as a solar roof, radar cruise control, improved sound systems, larger wheels, ventilated front seats, driver side mirror with automatic attenuation, 360 degree exterior camera views, column settings Power steering and a back-energy sunshade is expected to once be offered back in the top moldings. Look for fuel consumption estimates similar to those of 2018, to 11.1/7.8 L/100 km (city/highway).
