2023 Nissan Ariya: All-New Electric Crossover Nissan Ariya Expert Review

Posted on

2023 Nissan Ariya The Nissan Ariya 2023 represents the automaker’s boldest step towards the future of electric cars.

After years of offering affordable electric Leaf hatchbacks, the Ariya can help the automaker attract more first-time electric car buyers than ever before. Nissan aims to have more than 40 percent of US vehicle sales fully electric by 2030.

  • Nissan’s next electric vehicle is an SUV called the Ariya
  • The bold electric SUV will be offered in both FWD and AWD
  • The Ariya gets a little more upscale than the affordable Leaf hatchback

The base model Ariya Venture+ FWD is expected to have the largest range of the 300-mile range on a full charge, while the Ariya Evolve+ FWD and Premiere FWD trim levels are projected to have a range of 285 miles each.

The Ariya with the lowest expected range is the best AWD Platinum+ e-4orce model, which has an estimated range of 265 miles.

The EPA hasn’t released a range estimate for the different trim levels and drivetrains of the Ariya, but these are Nissan’s target numbers.

Over the years, the Leaf has been one of the most affordable electric cars available. However, with the body style of the Ariya SUV and a range of up to 300 miles, Nissan estimates a base price of around $46,000.

Even though it’s thousands over the base Leaf, the Ariya’s price might actually prove competitive with upcoming competitors including the Chevy electric SUV and Volkswagen ID4.

Nissan says the 2023 Ariya FWD will go on sale in the US in fall 2022, while the AWD model goes on sale in late fall.

2023 Nissan Ariya Review

It was a little over a decade ago when Nissan launched the Leaf and became an early mass producer of EVs. Now, more than a year and a half after its initial reveal, the Nissan Ariya has finally arrived in Canada. The Ariya is Nissan’s first full-electric crossover and aims to take on rivals such as the Ford Mustang Mach-E, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Kia EV6.

2023 Nissan Ariya

In Canada, the Ariya will be available in six classes at launch. The entry-level Engage class is equipped with a 63-kWh battery, an electric motor producing 214-hp and 221 lb-ft of torque mounted on the front axle for front-wheel drive, and an estimated range of 346 kilometers.

A heat pump for more efficient cab heating is standard equipment. The Evolve class adds a second motor to the rear axle to create all-wheel drive and has a total power output of 335 hp and 413 lb-ft with a slightly lower estimated range of 328 km.

Step into the Venture+ and you receive a boost to the motor of 238 hp in front-wheel drive, while the 87-kWh battery extends the Ariya’s range to around 482 km.

The Evolve+ comes in the same configuration but has a slightly lower mileage at 463 km due to higher power draw from more included features.

The most advanced Platinum+ class includes a larger 87 kWh battery and all-wheel drive via two motors with a combined power output of 389 hp and 442 lb-ft, with an approximate range of 426 km.

The power and reach figures are the same in the Premiere class, which is a special edition for the launch year that comes with a unique element of style.

All grades will be equipped with a CCS charging port with a maximum charging speed of 130 kW.

The Ariya currently in Canada has Japanese right-hand drive specs roughly on par with the Platinum+ class we’ll see in our market.

The exterior features high arches surrounding the wheels with an aerodynamically optimized cover, a dark roof with brushed chrome shutters, contoured side skirts, and rear taillight blades (which, in our view, are very similar to current Porsche styling).

Nissan says the grille pattern is inspired by Japanese Kumiko wood art, and the motif repeats itself throughout the cabin.

Inside, two standard 12.3-inch displays feature the instrument cluster and infotainment system, which comes with standard wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto.

The flat-bottomed steering wheel and Kumiko-patterned speaker grille and interior lighting really stand out, but the most notable design feature is the HVAC controls, which are built right into the wood paneling below the infotainment screen.

Instead of using hard buttons, controls are activated by tapping directly on the panel and responding with haptic feedback.

Since the Ariya EV’s dedicated platform doesn’t require a drivetrain line, the center console is completely disconnected from the dashboard and driven by the engine, meaning it can move about 15 centimeters forward or backward.

The shifter sits on top of that in front of standard cordless phone chargers and more built-in controls for adjusting driving modes or activating Nissan’s ePedal mode. Unlike the ePedal mode on the Nissan Leaf, lifting one foot off the accelerator on the Ariya will make the vehicle almost stop, but not completely stop, a change that Nissan says Leaf owners demand. While the console itself lacks storage space, two drop-down glove compartments are built into the bottom of the dashboard.

The Nappa leather shown here belongs to the Platinum grade, while the fabric or faux leather seating is standard on the lower grades. Unlike some competitors, Nissan doesn’t offer a completely vegan interior.

The available panoramic sunroof has panels that can be opened, and there is a head-up display and digital rear-view camera. Heated front seats are standard, and ventilated front seats and heated outboard rear seats are available.

The leather interior includes a zipper to cover the LATCH connector and a strap to keep the second-row seat belt in place, which is a discreet and luxurious detail. Nissan’s Divide ‘n Hide cargo system is also available.

The all-new Nissan Ariya 2023, Nissan’s first all-electric crossover SUV, offers powerful acceleration and smooth, quiet operation, and, with an estimated range of up to about 300 miles1 for the Venture+ model, the Ariya is the perfect partner for everyday activities. travel and road trips are the same.

The Ariya is the cornerstone of Nissan’s NEXT global transformation plan and is the first production model to represent the company’s new electrified brand identity, forging the path to a new automotive era where electrification, optimized platform packaging and seamless vehicle technologies are standard.

Advanced driver assistance features, concierge-like assistance and seamless connectivity increase confidence on the road and provide a welcoming environment for both driver and passengers.

The all-new Ariya also builds on Nissan’s strengths as an EV pioneer and innovator, starting with the groundbreaking Nissan LEAF, which since its introduction more than a decade ago, has garnered global sales of over 550,000 vehicles2.

Four Nissan Ariya models will initially be available, each equipped with an advanced liquid-cooled 87 kWh Lithium-Ion battery (usable battery capacity), CCS fast charging port, available ProPILOT Assist 2.03, wireless Apple CarPlay® and wired Android Auto, lounge-like premium interior and Nissan Safety Shield® 360. Additional models will be available at a later date.

Additionally, the first 10,000 reservations made before January 31, 2022 will be eligible for a free two-year EVgo membership plus a $500 replenishment credit after purchase 4 . That equates to an estimated 5,000 miles of EV drive for the Ariya Venture+ 5.

The Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite of safety features, as well as the ProPilot Assist driver assistance technology, are both standard. A new feature called ProPilot Park is available, which Nissan says will partially automate the parking process.

Reservations are open for the Ariya 2023, which can be placed on Nissan.ca/ariyareserve with a refundable deposit of $1,000. Pricing will be announced closer to the fall launch date, which will see FWD models arrive first and AWD models to follow a few weeks later.

When the Ariya officially goes on sale, it will be available at select Nissan dealerships in Canada, not just in the provinces at a discounted EV price.

A Nissan representative declined to comment on whether the Ariya might fall below the $45,000 base price threshold required to qualify for the federal iZEV rebate program.

Meanwhile, the Ariya is currently previewable in Nissan Studio. This can be seen live at a live studio location on Toronto’s Yorkdale Mall or, for those outside the Toronto area, a digital walkaround is offered at nissan.ca/nissanstudio.

Both the Ariya and Nissan Z 2023 will be in the studio until February 28.

2023 Nissan Ariya EV

What you’re seeing isn’t a concept car—it’s a production version of the Nissan Ariya electric SUV that was first shown earlier, way back at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show, and is coming to the US and Canada in late 2022.

2023 Nissan Ariya

With a range of up to 300 miles, a flat-floor cabin , hands-off driving mode, and a $47,000 price tag, the Ariya promises to be an electric crossover for those who don’t want to fade into battery life. -Powerful backdrops of similar Teslas.

Kudos to stylist Ariya, who certainly isn’t shy. Nissan calls the design theme “Eternal Japanese Futurism,” and while we’re not sure about the first word, the latter two are definitely true.

To be honest, we didn’t know what to think about the Ariya when we first saw it—the tilting disc in the door is one of the few elements that takes some getting used to—but the more we looked at the pictures, the more we began to embrace that Ariya look.

Had we been shown the Ariya without explanation, we might have assumed it was a future version of the conventional Murano midsize SUV, even though the Ariya is smaller — dimensionally it sits halfway between the slightly smaller Audi Q4 E-Tron and the slightly smaller Tesla.

Bigger Y model (as well as Ford’s Mach E Mustang, which is similar in size to Tesla). But it’s the same size and swagger as the Murano, with cleaner window lines and a robot-warrior version of Nissan’s corporate SUV grille.

Nissan will be offering the Ariya in six two-tone paint schemes, so clearly, it’s poised to grab the attention of onlookers and emphatically remind them that the future is now.

With 20-inch wheels (19 are standard on the front-wheel drive 2023 Ariya Venture Plus), the Ariya Platinum Plus with the available e-4ORCE AWD really looks like an SUV of the future. The AWD system name definitely stands out.

2023 Nissan Ariya Specs

You’ll never tell by looking at the photos, but the Nissan Ariya 2023 is actually a tenth of an inch long compared to the new 2021 Nissan Rogue.

The Ariya also rides a wheelbase 2.8 inches longer, more than 2 inches wider, and more than an inch taller than the 2021 Rogue. Initial figures suggest the Rogue will offer more cargo space as well.

Here are the key initial specifications on the 2022 Nissan Ariya:

  • Length: 182.9 inches
  • Width: 74.8 inches
  • Height: 65.4-65.7 inches (depending on roof rack)
  • Cargo Space: 14.6 to 16.5 cubic feet (FWD models have more room than AWD models)

The Ariya will be offered with both FWD and AWD. The AWD system is called e-4ORCE, and can distribute torque from front to rear thanks to the available dual motor arrangement (single motor arrangement is standard)

The single motor variant produces 215 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque while the dual motor version produces 389 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque.

The 12.3-inch instrument cluster display and 12.3-inch infotainment screen make it clear that this is not an entry-level product. Wood trim, 19 or 20-inch wheels and ambient lighting also help enhance the premium feel inside

The five-passenger Ariya includes a slim profile Zero Gravity seat. If the seats are similar to those we’ve experienced at other Nissans, they’ll be comfortable. The slim seats are part of how Nissan claims the Ariya will offer “abundant headroom and legroom” for rear seat passengers.

The Ariya will offer ProPilot Assist 2.0, a technology package designed to make your driving safer and more comfortable, from lane centering and advanced adaptive cruise control to automatic emergency braking.

2023 Nissan Ariya Interior

Inside, the Ariya takes a minimalist approach that emphasizes the utility of its flat floor—not only for the rear seats but between the front seats as well. The dash’s strong horizontal lines and clean surface make it look like a time traveler from the 1970s.

2023 Nissan Ariya

Rather than installing a “funk”, Nissan has reserved space under the hood for the climate control system, which frees up space under the dash. The climate control is touch-sensitive with haptic feedback, and integrated into the dashboard wood trim.

The dual-screen setup with steering wheel controls is a fine middle ground between the traditional interior and the flashy futurism of the Tesla Model Y, though some might argue that the central entertainment screen looks a bit dated compared to the giant tablet screens at Mach. E and Tesla.

The center console storage box is disconnected from the dashboard and fully adjustable; in addition to storage space and a wireless charging pad, it houses a palm-sized shifter and touch-sensitive drive mode controls that darken when the Ariya is powered off.

The Ariya 2023 is Nissan’s ultimate expression of style and technology, with each complementing the other in aesthetics and function. The 100% electric vehicle platform removes fundamental limitations and allows designers to take a new approach to existing components.

The styling of the Ariya is a significant redefinition of Nissan’s design philosophy. The new philosophy is based on what Nissan calls “Eternal Japanese Futurism”, which is characterized by a distinctly Japanese approach delivered in a simple but powerful modern way.

Designers embraced this with key concepts of sleek, sexy and seamless to communicate how an EV paired with advanced driving capabilities can offer a new perspective to design, function and ownership experience.

Adopting the Japanese term iki, which characterizes the Ariya’s chic and sophisticated nature, the front of the vehicle looks smooth, elegant and fresh. This is highlighted by the shield – a grille redesigned for the EV era.

This shield incorporates a traditional 3-D Japanese kumiko pattern just beneath the smooth surface, while protecting the sensors used for driver assistance functions without interfering with aesthetic operation.

The redesigned Nissan brand logo is prominently placed in the center of the aerodynamic shield, emitting sharp definition from the 20 LEDs that compose it.

The bottom of the shield is bordered by subtle lighting that illuminates, along with the logo, when the Ariya is ready to operate. Sleek LED headlights, built with four 20mm mini projectors to reinvent Nissan’s signature V-motion design.

A single, unbroken horizon line runs across the side profiles, connecting the front and rear fascia and conveying linear motion, creating architectural beauty in tension and drama from every angle.

The rear of the Ariya is equally striking, characterized by a sharply carded C-pillar that blends perfectly into the rear deck. The one-piece light bar, which represents the rear combination light, has been designed to provide a blackout effect when parked, and consistent red illumination, day or night, when in use.

The high-mounted rear fender and rear wing flares signify the Ariya’s strong EV capabilities.

2023 Nissan Ariya Exterior

The Ariya is offered with six two-tone exterior paint combinations, each sporting a black roof, and three striking full-body colors. The unique two-tone Copper and Black exterior color package, called Akatsuki, expresses the moment before dawn, when the sun marks the beginning of a new day.

Ariya’s striking interior is defined by the Japanese term ma – referring to the spatiotemporal qualities that space and time possess. The interior is more like a sleek cafe space on a starship, evoking performance and intrigue, than a traditional automotive cabin.

The advantages provided by the company’s all-new EV platform have allowed the Ariya to offer a spacious cabin.

For example, the compact nature of the powertrain components allowed Nissan engineers to install the climate control system under the hood (where a traditional gasoline engine would be), allowing the designers to take advantage of the entire length of the cab without traditional obstructions such as transmission tunnels.

The flat, open floor – made possible by the location of the battery at the base of the chassis – and the slim Zero Gravity seats – provide ample legroom and easy interaction between front and rear seat passengers.

The EV drivetrain and generous use of sound-absorbing materials result in a quiet cabin, allowing passengers to relax and enjoy lounge-like spaces.

The Ariya’s minimalist instrument panel blends perfectly with the shape of the cabin and the transition to the doors. This is without the buttons and switches found in conventional vehicles.

The main climate control function is integrated into the wood center dashboard in the form of a capacitive haptic switch that offers the same feeling as a mechanical switch by vibrating to the touch.

Tucked under the center of the instrument panel is the available innovative center storage case and a folding tray. The innovative slide-out table design turns cabin space into a mobile office or picnic table on the go, helping ensure your parking time is productive.

The available adjustable center console can be moved according to the driver’s personal preferences and saved as part of the driver profile for automatic adjustments on future trips.

The surface houses a new shifter that fits in the palm of the hand to promote a relaxed driving position, with easy-to-reach haptic drive mode controls.

Rear seat passengers are treated to plenty of headroom and legroom, with a flat cabin floor that allows them to easily cross their legs and relax.

Accents and ornaments are brought into the back room to give all the same sense of sophistication and comfort. The sleek front seats are positioned to obscure the B-pillar, offering passengers a panoramic view of the outside.

2023 Nissan Ariya Features

Intelligent Power: Powerful EV performance for a variety of needs Built on the EV platform developed by the Alliance, the Ariya is the ultimate expression of Nissan Intelligent Mobility, Nissan’s vision to further increase the attractiveness of its vehicles and achieve the ultimate goal of a future with zero exhaust emissions and almost zero vehicle fatalities.

The Nissan Ariya’s all-electric drivetrain is an example of the seamless integration of advanced EV technology, integrating excellent power delivery, charging capabilities and extended range.

With four core models on offer, including two-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions, the Ariya is designed to meet the driving needs of a wide range of customers.

Both the front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive Ariya models offer a choice of usable battery capacities of 63 kWh or 87 kWh – ideal for urban commuters and first-time EV owners looking for quality and style in their next-generation EV.

Twin electric motors, the all-wheel-drive Ariya model features Nissan’s most advanced all-wheel control technology, the e-4ORCE. The letter “e” in the e-4ORCE stands for Nissan’s 100% electric motor drive system. “4ORCE” (pronounced power) refers to the physical strength and energy of the vehicle, with “4” representing all-wheel control.

Born out of the company’s rich history of developing memorable all-terrain vehicles and sports cars, the e-4ORCE is the spiritual descendant of the Nissan GT-R’s ATTESA E-TS torque split system and the intelligent all-wheel-drive system found in the Nissan crossover and lineup. SUVs.

By specifically managing power output and braking performance for smoothness and stability, the e-4ORCE increases driver confidence by tracing the line of the steering wheel on almost any road surface.

In addition to optimizing front and rear torque allocation, this system applies independent brake control at all four wheels to maximize the cornering force generated by each wheel.

This results in cornering that follows driver input with minimal steering adjustments.

Presence on a smooth and strong road

Staying true to Nissan’s legacy of producing fun-to-drive and exciting cars, the new Ariya EV platform has been optimized to deliver exceptional handling. The battery pack sits under the center of the vehicle to ensure a low center of gravity and nearly equal weight distribution, front and rear.

The flat design of the battery pack and cross-members are integrated in the battery case, allowing the Ariya to have a flat floor and impressive structural rigidity.

Suspension components are optimized to take advantage of this, creating stable handling and a comfortable ride while suppressing vibration and noise entering the cabin space.

At the rear, the suspension pack, including the multi-link system and rear electric motor (if equipped), creates an excellent balance between ride comfort, handling and performance.

The Ariya’s ultra-rigid body structure and super responsive rack-and-pinion steering system provide the vehicle with sharp turning response, while its near 50:50 front/rear weight distribution is made possible by the position of the battery under the floor in the center of the vehicle helping the Ariya behave with ease. predictable way through all kinds of twists.

Intelligent Driving: high-tech driving experience

Ariya ensures a high level of comfort and confidence by providing Nissan’s latest technologies, including the next generation of advanced driver assistance ProPILOT Assist.

Available on the Nissan LEAF, Altima, Pathfinder, Rogue and Rogue Sport, ProPILOT Assist is a live assistance system that helps drivers stay centered in their lane, navigating stopped and departing highway traffic and by maintaining a set vehicle speed and distance. to the vehicle in front.

ProPILOT Assist 2.0 is the latest iteration of Nissan’s driver assistance technology. This extends to ProPILOT Assist, allowing attentive drivers to take their hands off the wheel under certain conditions, helping to reduce the driver’s workload in single-lane highway traffic 3 .

In addition, ProPILOT Assist 2.0 also supports multi-lane highway driving tasks such as lane changes, traffic and off-road driving.

ProPILOT Assist 2.0 uses a navigation system and high-definition 3-D map data to detect highway types, directions and speed limits, and can adjust vehicle speed for a relaxed and enjoyable ride.

The Driver Monitoring System installed in the steering column monitors that the driver is paying attention to the road ahead when using the hands off feature.

When driving in hands-on mode, ProPILOT Assist 2.0 utilizes extensive 3-D map data to help keep the vehicle centered on the lane with increased accuracy.

For the first time in the US, ProPILOT Park is available with the new Ariya. ProPILOT Park takes over steering, acceleration brake and gearshift to guide the vehicle to a parking spot when activated 9 .

The Nissan Ariya is also equipped with standard Nissan Safety Shield® 360, a suite of six active safety features that includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Traffic Warning, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist and Rear Automatic Braking.

Smart Integration: keeping the Nissan Ariya up to date and at maximum potential

The Ariya embodies Nissan’s philosophy of designing vehicles around an intuitive and fun driver. This includes equipping it with the latest connectivity, including a new man-machine interface and over-the-air firmware updates.

Nissan’s intelligent personal assistance technology features a hybrid voice recognition system with advanced natural language understanding technology to handle in-vehicle assistance without the driver taking his eyes off the road.

These vehicles also include Amazon Alexa® to help customers simplify and organize their lives. Alexa can play music, make calls, listen to audiobooks, control smart home devices, and more, with just voice commands.

The two systems work hand in hand to provide a seamless and customized user experience, whether during daily commutes or weekend trips.

The Ariya also features wireless Apple CarPlay® and wired Android Auto™ standards to help drivers seamlessly integrate their smartphones into their driving experience.

The connectivity display interface features a 12.3-inch instrument monitor and a 12.3-inch center screen along a single horizon. By displaying several aspects of information on a single horizontal plane, information can be quickly digested.

Both screens are oriented in a wave-like shape to ensure important vehicle information, such as battery, range and navigation information, is easily reachable and scrollable with a simple swipe.

More information can be swiped between displays to customize and prioritize the information displayed right behind the wheel for an unrivaled bespoke experience.

The Ariya’s head-up display boasts one of the largest full-color displays in its segment. The projected display shows information similar to that found on meter displays, providing sharp driving information within the driver’s field of vision without being distracting.

The Ariya is also the first Nissan model with an over-the-air firmware update, called the “Remote Software Upgrade.” This technology automatically updates various in-vehicle software – specifically, the software that controls the multimedia system, electrical and electronic architecture, chassis, climate system and EV settings.

The future of electric vehicles is now

The Nissan Ariya crossover marks a new era of electric vehicles, promising an incredibly powerful and smooth ride thanks to the full power of Nissan Intelligent Mobility brought about by the latest assistive technology designed to support, respond and respect the driver’s intentions.

The sleek, seamless design inspired by Timeless Japanese Futurism gives all residents a friendly personal feel that aims to exceed expectations.

Electric Drive System

The Ariya will be available with one motor and front-wheel drive or the “e-4ORCE” two-motor all-wheel drive system, which we sampled in 2020 on a prototype mule built from the Nissan Leaf.

The Ariya’s single motor produces 238 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque, while the all-wheel-drive Aryaia makes 389 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque.

Both powertrains will be offered in standard and long-range versions, the former with a 65 kWh battery (63 kWh of which can be used) and the latter with a 91 kWh battery (87 kWh usable).

Nissan estimates the battery range for the single-motor long-range version to be around 300 miles while the dual-motor e-FORCE will have a range of around 265 miles. With rival battery ranges much higher, it’s surprising that Nissan continues to use a low kWh battery pack.

However, given that the Ariya will also take a 130-kW charge rate with DC fast charging, it takes only about 42 minutes to charge it to 100 percent with the 91-kWh battery pack. Charging the larger plan to 80 percent will take more than 33 minutes.

Nissan Ariya Onboard Safety & Technology

The Ariya will come with a full suite of active driver and safety assist systems, including Nissan’s answer to Tesla’s Autopilot, which it calls ProPILOT Assist v2.0 on its Premiere FWD and Platinum Plus e-FORCE models.

ProPILOT Assist with Nissan’s Navi-link comes standard on the Venture Plus trim. Under certain conditions—especially divided and less winding roads—ProPILOT will allow the driver to take their hands off the wheel.

Like the Cadillac Super Cruise, the Ariya has a monitoring system that tries to determine if the driver is paying attention to the road ahead.

We had a positive experience with the ProPILOT Assist lane and speed feature on our Four Seasons Infiniti QX50, so we are optimistic that this next-generation system will perform even better.

Premiere FWD and Platinum Plus will also feature ProPILOT Park, Nissan’s automated parking system.

As you’d expect, the Ariya will be loaded with infotainment technology, including compatibility with wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto via Nissan Connect.

Most of the car’s functions will be adjusted by voice commands. The Ariya will be able to update the software over-the-air, not only for the infotainment unit but for the powertrain, chassis and climate control system.

2023 Nissan Ariya Reservation Elearning Certification

2023 Nissan Ariya Reservation Elearning Certification Quizlet: now that Nissan has come out with four versions of the highly anticipated 2023 Ariya electric crossover, people are wondering, how to get one?

Well, while there’s still no official release date for when the Ariya will arrive at dealerships, the good news is that Nissan has set up a reservation process for any consumer interested in betting their claim on one of these vehicles. Here’s how it works.

The Nissan Ariya reservation process as a whole seems pretty simple and can be completed completely online, which is always a plus in this day and age. To get started, the customer must go to the specified website (nissanusa.com/ariya/reserve) and create a MyNissan account.

After that, select the desired Ariya model and make a refundable deposit of $500. Then select an EV-certified Nissan dealer to ship the Ariya. From there, once the vehicle arrives at the dealership, consumers can complete the purchase online via Nissan@Home or at the dealership itself.

Once that’s done, customers can choose whether they want their new Ariya delivered straight to their door or if they want to pick it up at a dealer.

Nissan is also offering the first 10,000 customers who make a reservation before January 31, 2022, a free EVgo membership for two years plus a $500 credit when purchasing a car. Depending on the model, those credits can be worth up to 5,000 miles driving an EV.

There are four Ariya models to choose from currently: Venture+ front-wheel drive, Evolve+ front-wheel drive, Premiere front-wheel drive and Platinum+ e-4ORCE all-wheel drive.

Each model has a liquid-cooled 87 kWh lithium-ion battery, CCS fast charging port, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Nissan SafetyShield 360, and ProPILOT Assist 2.0 available.

The front-wheel-drive Ariya Premiere is exclusive to customers taking part in the reservation program only and is equipped with 19-inch aluminum-alloy alloy wheels that have color treated aero wheel covers, illuminated kick plates and a special Premiere class badge. .

Pricing for the Nissan Ariya 2023 model starts at $45,950 for the Venture+ front-wheel drive and goes up to $58,950 for the Platinum+ all-wheel drive with Destination and Handling for $1,175.

However, the Ariya must qualify for the full federal EV tax credit and applicable state plug-in rebates, which can reduce costs a reasonable amount.

Deliveries for the ordered Ariya are slated to begin in the fall of 2022, with the front-wheel-drive model to be delivered first and the all-wheel-drive model following later in the fall.

2023 Nissan Ariya Venture FWD 19

Nissan Motor Co. helped jump-start the EV market in 2010 with the Leaf, but hasn’t put out another electric engine since. Now, the automaker is aiming to get back into the game and take on a host of new rivals with the premium crossover Ariya 2023.

Ahead of the Los Angeles International Auto Show, the automaker announced tonight that the Ariya will be offering a quartet of trim levels starting at $47,125 before incentives.

With a minimum $7,500 federal tax credit available, that puts the real acquisition cost of the 300-mile, front-wheel drive Ariya Venture Plus trim at just under $40,000.

2023 Nissan Ariya Colors

Among the Autoblog staffers, the early standouts are Aurora Green, Pearl Blue, Tinted Red, and the Akatsuki Copper color that was used on the concept and production Ariya debut cars.

The other colors on offer include Burgundy, Gun Metallic, Warm Silver, Ceramic Grey, Pearl Black and Pearl White. Interestingly, it appears that it will be possible to get an Ariya without the black roof from the debut model.

It’s not clear whether that’s an option with every color, or only the ones displayed: Gun Metallic, Ceramic Grey and Pearl Black. It could also be tied to trim level. We should know closer to the on-sale date for the Ariya.

2023 Nissan Ariya Release Date

Initially, the Ariya was set to go on sale in Japan in mid-2021 and was slated to arrive in the US and Canada in late 2021. Unfortunately, supply issues have now pushed it back into late 2022 in North America and are now launching as a 2023 model.

“Nissan is facing a variety of industry challenges,” the brand said when asked about the delay, “including semiconductor shortages and a supply chain crisis.

Our priority is to ensure that we deliver the all-new Nissan Ariya to customers with the highest levels of quality and maintenance. To that end, we have postponed the start of sales of the Ariya, which will now be available in the US from fall 2022 with orders starting November 16, 2021.”

Nissan said US prices for the first four Ariya trims—Venture Plus—will start at $47,125 with a $500 reservation opening on November 16, 2021. The first 10,000 orders placed before January 31, 2022 will also be eligible for a free EVgo.

Two year membership plus $500 when they receive their Ariya submissions. According to Nissan, it’s “worth up to 5,000 miles of EV driving for the Ariya Venture Plus.”

While the styling may be a little, uh, polarizing, we think the Nissan Ariya will appeal to the cutting-edge futurists who first embraced Tesla, while its relatively low price tag and Nissan’s experience in EVs have already sold half a million copies.

Of the Leaf —should bring the more cautious buyers into the fray as well. Ariya seems to be a solid bridge between today’s cars and future electric SUVs. We’d love to ride it—or maybe let it take us for a ride.

Deliveries of the Nissan Ariya will begin next fall, first for the front-wheel-drive model, followed by the all-wheel-drive model in late fall at over 890 selected Nissan US dealers.
